Luxury brand POAN, the brain child of former vice-head of menswear at Vivienne Westwood, Georg Weissacher was launched globally during the recently concluded Paris Fashion week with a presentation of its debut collection titled Hibernal at the glamorous Hôtel Particulier, 7 Rue Auber, Opera.
POAN asked WhoCares?! to design a furniture piece which can be more than just a furniture piece.
The idea behind it was to create something that can be used indoors as well as outdoors and functions as a walk-in cupboard, a mobile store and presentation tool and decoration for the fashion show. Using mirror and metal, the exterior surface is reflecting every light ray and therefore seems invisible. Pictures of the collection can be shown on the screen grid. Also the emblem of POAN is milled into the exterior surface with a black metal background. Representing the avant-garde collection of Weissacher the decision fell onto dark and majestic colors and metal surfaces. Dividing this one massive block in 4 smaller boxes added more flexibility to the arrangement. These boxes can work alone as a wardrobe or store or they can be combined and can function as a big walk-in cupboard or a bigger store. A mobile fashion presentation tool and a mobile store designed for POAN – People Of All Nations – by WhoCares?!.
